"Too slow": Yashasvi Jaiswal mercilessly mocks Mitchell Starc in Perth. Australian fast bowler did this - see

India's bowlers restricted Australia to just 104 runs in the first innings of the first Test in Perth, after which it was time for openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul to take the team forward. The left-right combination, with some capable assistance from Australia's poor fielding, played sensible cricket and took India to a total of over 150. The Indian pair looked extremely confident, with Yashasvi Jaiswal taking a particular liking to Mitchell Starc. At one point, Jaiswal mocked Starc by saying, “It's coming very slow.”

Hearing this, Stark could not help but smile.

Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul stitched an extraordinary 84-run partnership at the end of the second session of the opening Test match at the Optus Stadium on Saturday, putting the visitors ahead by 130 runs.

At the end of the second session of the Perth Test, India are 84/0 with Yashasvi Jaiswal (42*) and KL Rahul (34*) unbeaten at the crease. The visiting team is ahead by 130 runs in the match.

The second session started with Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul and the visitors were ahead by 46 runs.

Both the batsmen started the innings slowly but later picked up the pace and started attacking the opponent bowlers.

Jaiswal and Rahul completed their 50-run partnership in the 15th over of the innings as Rahul took a triple off the bowling of right-arm fast bowler Pat Cummins.

In the next over (16th), the team led by Jasprit Bumrah completed the lead of 100 runs.

Recalling the first session of the Perth Test on day two, Australia started the second day at 67/7, with Mitchell Starc (6*) and Alex Carey (19*) remaining unbeaten.

Captain Jasprit Bumrah gave a shock to India in the beginning and dismissed in-form wicketkeeper Carey for 21 runs with the help of three fours in 31 balls. He was caught behind the wicket by keeper Rishabh Pant. This also made Bumrah's feat of taking 11th five-wicket haul in Test matches. Australia was 70/8.

In the 33rd over, Harshit Rana got the wicket of Nathan Lyon for just five runs. Lyon could not pick up the short ball and tried to take it past third man, but the ball hit his gloves and went to KL Rahul in the slips. Australia was 79/9.

After this, Starc and Hazlewood disappointed the Indian bowlers by making the first good partnership of their innings. While Hazlewood blocked almost everything, Starc gave the occasional hit. He took Australia beyond 100 runs in 45.4 overs.

After 110 balls, the wait for the wicket was finally over, Starc waved a ball in the air and the ball was easily caught by Pant. Starc's patient and aggressive innings of 26 runs off 112 balls with the help of two fours ended.
