Tamil director Suresh Sangaiah died in Chennai on Friday, November 15, 2024, after suffering from liver failure. He was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, where he breathed his last at around 11 pm. The news of his demise was confirmed by cinematographer Saran, who worked with him in the Tamil film Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu.
Halitha Shamim, also a Tamil director, condoled Suresh's demise. Sharing his photo, he wrote on Instagram, “Shocked and saddened to hear about the demise of @sureshsangaiah. I have always considered #OruKidayinKarunaiManu a precious film and now it has deeper significance.”

He is survived by his wife and two children.
According to a report in Money Control, the filmmaker was suffering from jaundice and liver failure, for which he was undergoing treatment.
Suresh started his career as an assistant director to M. Manikandan, where he worked on the 2015 film Kaaka Muttai. Later, he decided to pursue his passion for filmmaking and transitioned into a full-fledged director, eventually directing Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu, starring Vidharth and Raveena Ravi in the lead roles.
He has also directed Saathiya Sothanai, which starred Premgi Amaren.
Suresh recently collaborated with Yogi Babu for a special, untitled film for Hotstar Specials. Reportedly, the film will revolve around the life of a rural man facing social challenges, which promises to be another unique story.
The yet-to-be-titled film produced by SR Ramesh Babu's RB Talkies and Jegan Baskaran's Box Office Studios also stars Lovleen Chandrasekhar in the lead role along with George Maryan, Raichal Rebecca and Ramakrishnan.
