'The Sabarmati Report' starring Vikrant Massey is based on the tragic incident of burning of S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express near Godhra station in Gujarat on February 27, 2002.

The film, which draws attention to the 2002 Godhra massacre, has been declared tax-free in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan. It has also received appreciation from various political leaders including BJP MP and actress Hema Malini.

Ekta Kapoor, one of the producers of the film, recently talked about the extensive research that went into making the film. He revealed, “We spent a year reviewing previous research and fact-checking those findings. Only after that, we moved forward to make the film. That's what made me want to make this film and uncover the truth behind it.” “Proud to unveil.” The film has garnered considerable attention after PM Modi publicly praised the film's effort to expose the truth.

Responding to a post on Twitter in which the film's trailer was shared, PM Modi commented, “Very well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way that common people can see it.” A false narrative may persist only for a limited period of time, eventually, the facts will always emerge!”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini also expressed their appreciation for the film while paying tribute to the 59 victims who lost their lives in the tragedy.
