The Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday rejected reports that its officials will hold a virtual meeting with their counterparts from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on November 26 to resolve the uncertainty over the Champions Trophy. . , The announcement of the schedule of the major event has been delayed after BCCI expressed its inability to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the tournament.

“We have no information from the ICC about any meeting between us, the BCCI and the ICC,” a reliable source in the PCB told PTI.

He also said that the PCB is yet to receive any response from the ICC on the email it sent to the global body asking about India's reluctance to send a team to the neighboring country.

However, an ICC source clarified that an internal meeting may be held on Tuesday to find a solution to this complex issue. “This is a virtual meeting of the Executive Board members to resolve the issue of the Champions Trophy program once and for all,” he revealed.

He said that the meeting has been called because the broadcaster of the program is putting a lot of pressure on the ICC to finalize the programme.

He said, “There is a possibility that there may be a vote on what to do and what event should be held – in Pakistan, it should be shifted or adopt the hybrid model suggested by the BCCI, while India will play its matches in UAE. ” ,

The official admitted that this time the PCB has also taken a tough stance and is not ready to back down from its stand of hosting the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, as they have no problem in hosting any team.

“The PCB has also made it clear that even if the hybrid model is adopted, it will not play its group match against India in Dubai,” the source said.

He said that the executive board has suggested keeping Pakistan and India in separate pools but the broadcasters are not ready to accept it due to decline in revenue.
