Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has come under fire over the delay in releasing sample papers for Class 10th and 12th students, leaving around 18 lakh students struggling to prepare for their upcoming board exams.

With the annual board exams starting on February 25, 2024, and the half-yearly exams scheduled for December 9-19, the absence of sample papers is creating trouble among students. In previous years, MPBSE released sample papers at least six months before the final examination, giving students ample time to become familiar with the exam pattern and marking scheme.

However, this year, with barely three months left for the exam to take place, the board is yet to release important preparation materials. Students are now forced to depend on the recently released marking scheme for their studies. MPBSE Secretary KD Tripathi told Free Press that we will release the sample paper when it is ready.

“However, questions from the sample paper will not appear in the final exam,” he said.

Marking scheme for 2024-2025

For classes 9th and 11th, theory papers will be of 75 marks, with 25 marks allotted for internal assessment. For classes 10th and 12th, theory papers in non-practical subjects will be of 80 marks, while project work will be of 20 marks. For practical subjects in class 10th and 12th, 70 marks are prescribed for the theoretical part and 30 marks for practical.
