Indian student Neelam Shinde meets with an accident in America, interventions mea; Fast-track visa work for family: report

The accident of Indian student Neelam Shinde in the United States has attracted the attention of the Ministry of External Affairs (Mea), which has now stepped into assistance according to a report by the news agency. ANI,

According to sources, Mea has formally extended the case with the authorities concerned in the US, which is currently reviewing the processes required to speed up the visa process for Neelam's family, which can be able to travel to America as soon as possible.

Neelam is from Satara district of Maharashtra. His father, Tanaji Shinde also appealed for an emergency visa during the medical crisis.

In the meantime, Nationalist Congress Party MP Supriya Sule also raised the issue on social media and urged the Indian Foreign Minister's Jaishankar to intervene in the matter.

“Student Neelam Shinde has met an accident in the United States and is hospitalized in a local hospital. Her father, Tanaji Shinde, Satara, Maharashtra, India, immediately needs to meet his daughter due to a medical emergency. Tanaji Shinde has applied for an immediate visa in the United States and requires help,”

According to a report by NDTV, Neelam is in a critical condition and is currently in a coma after a four -wheeler injury in California on 14 February. He suffered severe head and chest injuries with several fractures.

His family, who last talked to him on 12 February, learned about the accident on 16 February and was trying to secure the visa since then, but still waiting.
