Mahidpur (Madhya Pradesh): A devastating incident took place in Akyadhaga village on Saturday night, where the cause of the fire is unknown, resulting in the tragic death of several cattle. Four buffaloes and two calves of local farmer Balu Singh Anjana were burnt to death in the fire.
According to the information, after having dinner at around 10 pm, Balusingh and his family tied their buffaloes in the shed and went to sleep. At around 1 am, a villager named Arjun Singh alerted Balu Singh that flames were coming out of his shed.
The family immediately reached the spot, when a crowd of villagers was trying to extinguish the fire. Balu Singh told the gathered crowd that there were seven animals in the shed, including five adult buffaloes and two calves who were just six months old.
On receiving news of the fire, local officials including the village Patwari and a veterinary doctor reached the spot the next morning. Dr. Arvind Mathania of Mahidpur Veterinary Hospital started treating the surviving animals.
He said that three buffaloes died on the spot due to severe burns, while the bodies of two calves were burnt to the extent of 70 to 80 percent. The community is shocked by the incident and investigation is underway to find out the cause of the fire.
