Indore (Madhya Pradesh): BJP woman councilor of Ward 46 and her husband were beaten up by four miscreants on Monday night over a dispute over abusive language. The incident took place at Vijay Nagar restaurant in Indore where the couple had gone for dinner.

Later the BJP woman councilor went to the police station and complained about him. At present the police is searching for an unknown accused.

The victims were identified as BJP woman councilor Shaifu and her husband Akash Kushwaha, residents of Somnath's Chawl.

According to the information received, Shaifu had gone to Guru Kripa restaurant for dinner with her husband and child at around 11 pm on Monday night. Meanwhile, three young men and a girl were sitting at a nearby table and talking on the phone.

When Shafu and her husband heard that he was using abusive language on the phone, both of them intervened and asked him not to use such language in a public place.

After this they started beating the councilor and her husband. When the dispute escalated, the hotel staff intervened. After this the accused threatened to kill the woman councilor and her husband and fled from the spot.

Later she reached the police station and lodged a complaint. After this, the police registered a case against the accused and tried to identify the unknown accused. Further investigation is underway.
