Between the line 'Hindi Emposition', Tamil actor left BJP, joined Vijay's TVK

In a major political development in Tamil Nadu, actor Ranjana Nachiyar attended the Tamilga Vatri Kazgam of fellow actor Vijay on Wednesday. It came a day after leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party – which she joined eight years ago – citing dissatisfaction with her policies, including alleged implementation of Hindi.

Ms. Natchiyaar – In the current bash of a TVK anniversary organized by Vijay at a private resort near Chennai this morning – the present – expressed her praise for her new political owner, called her “next MGR”.

This reference was the late ingredient actor-prose and Raja Ramachandran, who was the Chief Minister for a decade in the 1970s and 80s and he established one of the two major political parties of the state and currently founded the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazgam.

He said that Vijay's mixture of 'Nationalism and Dravidian policies' echoed deeply with him, and made TVK an ideal platform for his political future. “Vijay is the biggest hope for Tamil Nadu.”

Jump for TVK has been seen as the first major result of the BJP's three -language source push – which has been slammed by the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazgam as 'Hindi Aopa'. In her resignation letter, Ms. Nagiyar wrote, “As a Tamil woman, I cannot accept the implementation of three language policy, increasing enmity towards Dravidies and the needs of Tamil Nadu and neglect of the needs and aspirations.”

DMK and AIADMK, traditionally fiery rivals have united to criticize the BJP's efforts to ensure the implementation of National Education Policy, which instructs all schools to make a third language teaching – not necessarily Hindi, but often in practice – mandatory.

On that subject, Ms. Nagiyar said in her letter, “Not all children are linguists … and children do not need to be forced to learn another. There is no strict need.”

In his meeting, TVK boss Vijay also took up arms against the education policy.

'Language War' of Tamil Nadu

The line of over the third language in schools has exchanged a strong attacks to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

This was followed by the latter of “Blackmail” after the former accused when he said that money of Rs 2,400 crore would be withdrawn from the center if the state did not fully implement the new education policy.

Mr. Stalin, and his deputy, Udayanidhi Stalin, however, condemned the policy and warned the BJP -led Central Government that his state is ready for another 'language war'.

Mr. Stalin also wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to press his talk, after which Mr. Pradhan hit back through NewBharat TV interview. He accused the DMK of creating a “false story” and said that Tamil Nadu had really agreed to the policy before U-turn for political reasons.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's 'Hindi Impression' Pushback started a reaction from neighboring Telangana this morning. The Congress government of the state has compulsorily learning Telugu for all schools in all boards, including the center-administered CBSE.
