As soon as India Star faltered, Rohit Sharma punched 'keeper Sarfaraz Khan, video went viral

India captain Rohit Sharma was involved in a ridiculous incident with teammate Sarfaraz Khan on the second day of the two-day practice match against the Prime Minister's XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Sarfaraz, who came in as a substitute wicketkeeper in place of Rishabh Pant, bunted a regulation take behind the sticks. The result was that Rohit jokingly punched him on the back. The incident occurred in the 23rd over of the innings when Harshit Rana bowled a short-pitched ball to Oliver Davis, who came in to bat after the dismissal of Jack Clayton.

The ball passed Clayton, but Sarfaraz, who was keeping wickets, failed to catch the ball. As soon as Sarfaraz was about to take the ball from the field, Rohit punched him hard on the back. However, both of them had smiles on their faces after the incident.

Davis was dismissed on zero by Rana on the very next ball, who clean bowled him with a ripper.

Earlier, the two-day practice match was reduced to 50-50 overs with no play possible on the first day due to heavy rain.

In the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India made a spectacular comeback after a series whitewash against New Zealand on home soil and defeated Australia by 295 runs despite being bowled out for just 150 runs in the first innings in Perth.

Australia's star fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the upcoming Adelaide Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to a side strain, ESPNcricinfo reported on Saturday.

Sean Abbott and Brendan Doggett, who have not yet made their Test debut, were included in the Australian squad for the second Test.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Scott Boland will replace Hazlewood in the playing eleven for the day-night Test.

ESPNcricinfo quoted Cricket Australia as saying that Hazlewood suffered a “low-grade left side injury” and will remain with the team in Adelaide to recover.

The day-night Adelaide Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will start from 6 December.
