He then quickly walked out of the room and finally hugged Gukesh and this lovely celebration of the father-son duo left the entire nation emotional.
Reigning world chess champion Ding Liren had to regret the 'mistake' he made in the 14th and final game.
Liren's error of judgment proved costly as Gukesh capitalized on the mistake and became the youngest world champion in the history of the game.
After Gukesh's victory, Russian Chess Federation head Andrei Filatov has accused China's Ding Liren of deliberately losing the game.
Russian news agency TASS quoted Filatov as asking the International Chess Federation (FIDE) to launch an investigation and investigate the result.
He said, “The result of the last game caused panic among professionals and chess fans. The actions of the Chinese chess player in the deciding section are extremely suspicious and require a separate investigation by FIDE.”
He said, “It is difficult even for a first-class player to lose in the position Ding Liren was in. The Chinese chess player's defeat in today's game raises many questions and seems to be a deliberate defeat.”
