Andhra Pradesh will host a national drone summit as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu plans to develop a 'Drone City' in the state. At least 5,000 drones will be displayed in Amravati at the National Drone Summit.
Mr Naidu has proposed to allocate 300 acres of land at Oravakkal in Kurnool district to develop a 'Drone City', which will be a hub for manufacturing, research and development, certification and development of user applications.
Shri Naidu said, “In the next 15 days, we will announce our drone policy and how an appropriate ecosystem will be created. I am appealing to the Government of India that it must set up a certification agency and make it a Manufacturing centers will have to be built.”
“We will provide one of the best infrastructure. It will be near Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Amaravati,” he said.
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu have the same vision i.e. to use drones as future technology and boost efficiency and productivity in various sectors, bring investment and create jobs. .
“This can be a game-changer for the country. Many young entrepreneurs are coming up with innovative solutions to challenges in agriculture, land records, sanitation etc. And this also has the potential to generate employment,” the Civil Aviation Minister said. ,
Andhra Pradesh is excited by the transformative potential of drones as a growth engine. Even in the recent floods in Vijayawada, drones were used to distribute food, water, medicine and other essentials.
The Chief Minister told reporters that these drones would be used for development, unlike their use in war, adding that Andhra Pradesh would serve as a case study for this approach.
“We will produce the proof-of-concept here. There is a cost-effective solution and also affordable. Once we scale it up, the cost will automatically reduce. In the end, India is going to benefit the best. People are using drones for wars. We are going to use drones for development. Andhra Pradesh will be a case study. We will also prepare and replicate the use-cases. The Indian government is working. We are working, it is in the interest of the people.”
