Mumbai: On Tuesday evening, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the issue of shifting several projects, including the Airbus Tata project, from Maharashtra to Gujarat.
“BJP is shameless because they have shifted every project from Maharashtra to Gujarat. Not only from Maharashtra but also projects from other states have been shifted to Gujarat. By doing this they have rubbed salt into the wounds of the youth of Maharashtra. They Has not done this.” 'I don't think it can have any impact on Maharashtra elections,' Thackeray said.
Thackeray said BJP and Eknath Shinde are not good for Mumbai, adding that projects providing employment to people in Maharashtra have been sidelined.
“Now it is visible to the world and the country that BJP and Eknath Shinde are not good for Mumbai. I have been watching for the last two years, a project that created employment opportunities in Maharashtra has been sidelined and in Gujarat Be it Vedanta Foxconn, Airbus Tata project, medical equipment park or solar energy equipment park, many such things have been transferred to Gujarat, it has happened under Fadnavis and Shinde led government, we have no problem. Not that any other state is getting all these projects, but don't take away what is ours,'' he said.
He said, “When Narendra Modi was in power at the Center (with absolute majority), we had Uddhav Thackeray as our chief minister. In those 2.5 years, we brought investment of about Rs 6.5 lakh crore to Maharashtra. But no money was in sight.” He is not coming.” Now in this double engine government, both the engines have failed.”
Thackeray said the Airbus project was to come up in Nagpur but it has moved to Gujarat. He said that Fadnavis was not even fighting for Nagpur and BJP was snatching projects from Maharashtra.
“These BJP leaders who are supporting shifting of these projects from Maharashtra are anti-Maharashtra,” he said.
Expressing disagreement over stopping of bus services, Thackeray pointed out that Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) has cut 1,000 bus services during the festival time.
“BEST bus services are being reduced by the Shinde government. On the other hand, we wanted to add 10,000 buses in Mumbai during the MVA regime,” he said. Thackeray is contesting the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections from Worli constituency for the second time. , Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) has fielded Milind Deora against Thackeray. Earlier, Deora said that Thackeray has failed to live up to the expectations of the people of Worli.
