"No way that cramp...": Injury worry for Jasprit Bumrah? The report makes explosive claims

The Indian cricket team had its first training session on Tuesday after the huge defeat against Australia in the Pink Ball Test match. While most of the Indian cricketers participated in the session, there were two prominent absentees – Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, both fast bowlers skipped practice under workload management. However, the sight of Bumrah spending time with India's strength and conditioning coach on the sidelines of the practice session has raised a major concern. During the second Test match, Bumrah was seen holding his inner thigh due to pain and although he continued bowling, some experts were concerned.

Former Australian cricket team fast bowler Damien Fleming reacted to Bumrah missing the practice session in Adelaide and said there will be “serious doubts” when it comes to him.

“There will be some serious doubts. Siraj may have the workload (concerning) but I am surprised Bumrah bowled that over. They could have hidden it. He showed his hand,” he said on SEN radio.

“There is no possibility that it is a cramp. He was very aggressive after the break in the first innings. He bowled again, not as slowly in the second innings. I don't even know why he bowled that over (in the second innings). “This really exposed some secrets.”

Earlier, India bowling coach Morne Morkel had assured that it was just a cramp and the fast bowler is “fine”. Bumrah, who took eight wickets in India's 295-run win in the series opener, showed signs of discomfort while bowling the 81st over of Australia's innings.

The team physio attended to him but he resumed bowling immediately, completed his overs and bowled three more overs later in the session.

“First of all, Bumrah is fine; it was just cramps. Yes, even after that, you know, he bowled and you got two wickets,” Morkel said in the post-match press conference.
