'Drunk' minor son of Army jawan rams SUV into 3 vehicles on Pune-Nashik highway; 1 dead, 3 injured symbolic image

An auto-rickshaw driver was killed and two others were injured when a speeding SUV driven by the minor son of an Indian Army jawan, allegedly drunk, collided with multiple vehicles in Bhosari on the Pune-Nashik highway. . According to the information received, the age of the minor driver is 17 years and 10 months. He is a native of Assam and is a first year student at the Central Government-run residential engineering college in Dighi. He was allegedly drunk on Saturday evening and was driving his friend's SUV at high speed from Bhosari to Nashik Phata. He lost control following which the SUV collided with a road divider near the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) office on the Pune-Nashik Highway in Bhosari around 9:45 pm.
Police said the collision was so severe that the SUV collided with the road divider and collided with three vehicles coming from the opposite direction – an auto-rickshaw, a scooter and a motorcycle. Auto rickshaw driver Amod Kamble (27, resident of Bhosari) died in the accident, while two others were injured. The 20-year-old friend of the minor driver, who was the owner of the SUV, escaped with minor injuries.
A case has been registered at Dapodi police station in connection with this incident. Police have booked the accused under sections 281 (rash driving), 125 (A), 125 (B), sections 324 (4), 3 (5) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) for endangering the personal safety or life of others. ) has registered a case under. and sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Later on Monday, the minor was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and sent to an observation home.
