Hyderabad:
A 17-year-old student of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) in Telangana's Nirmal district allegedly died by suicide on Monday, police said.
The student's family members raised suspicion over her death and alleged that the hostel staff were responsible for the incident.
The girl, a student of Pre-University Course-II, was found hanging in her hostel room on the institute's campus in Basar city by her roommates, a police officer said.
According to preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the girl took her life due to “family issues”.
A suicide note allegedly written by the student and addressed to her parents and brother was found, police said, adding that she was a native of Nizamabad district.
Meanwhile, the girl's family members raised questions as to why her body was taken to the hospital for postmortem without showing it to them. They argued that even the “suicide note” was not shown to them and alleged that the hostel staff were responsible for the girl's death.
Police said further investigation is underway.
