This weekend two heartbreaking incidents took place in Aligarh, where two small children lost their lives due to sudden heart attacks.
In the first incident, 8-year-old Diksha, a Class 3 student at Green Valley Convent Public School, died while playing at her home in Lodhinagar on Saturday evening. According to her family, Deeksha was running in the courtyard with her siblings when she suddenly complained of chest pain and started screaming. Her uncle Virendra Rajput told that foam started coming out of her mouth and after some time she became unconscious.
Believing it could be a case of a poisonous insect bite, his family took him to a nearby private doctor, who declared him dead. The doctor confirmed that Diksha had suffered a heart attack. The young girl is survived by her elder sister Monica (15), who is a Class 7 student, and her brother Sameer (13).
The family refused to conduct post-mortem
The family described Deeksha as a healthy child and refused to conduct postmortem when the police came to the house. The local police later respected their decision and left the scene.
In a similar incident on Friday morning, a 14-year-old boy from Aligarh's Chharra area died of a heart attack. The boy had gone for a run at 6 in the morning to prepare for a school competition. Sadly he fell and could not be saved.
These sudden deaths have shocked the local people, raising concerns about the health of children and the importance of early medical awareness for such conditions.
